Three miles. Every day. For three months. A pilgrimage of over 300 miles.
The purpose? A hope of hearing the whispers of God in my own life and in the ministry of VantagePoint3, which I have the privilege of serving and helping to steward. And a goal of raising $5,000…or more!
Pam’s Faithful Walk has been a separate, precious walk every day since May 11th to honor Randy Reese…my friend, mentor, teacher, VP3 boss, and potato chip-eating soul mate in country music who transitioned to heaven too soon.
This 312 mile Faithful Walk crossed the finish line—so to speak—Friday, August 11, 2017, the one year anniversary of Randy’s transition to heaven.
For those of you who have literally walked with me—thank you. For those of you who have already supported me, and the ministry of VantagePoint3 with your generous financial gifts—your encouragement has been precious at every level. And for those of you who would still like to give, it’s not too late! Seeing your name would delight me at any financial level.
When I began walking in May I was surprised by how hard it was to walk every day. The three miles was not hard, but everyday was. I realized how easily I give myself a pass on a lot of things, discounting little things that matter and make up our days. About half way through the three months, I realized I was looking forward to the time walking. Something shifted. What might God desire to do through your “showing up?” Your faithfulness?
As I process this Faithful Walk, I’ll share a few more of the whispers I’m hearing.
Our commitment at VantagePoint3 is to walk alongside Christian leaders who are helping adults discover more deeply who God is, who they are, and what God desires to do through them. It is a privilege.
“For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.” Ephesians 2:10
A Faithful Run birthed from VP3's founder, Randy Reese, who in June of 2016 felt the Lord calling him to run a marathon..."I may want to whisper something to you, Randy." The significance of that run for VP3 has grown considerably since Randy’s sudden death in August 2016. A Faithful Run has been created to provide a space and place for others to pay attention to the Spirit’s leading in their lives and to help VP3 live out its mission faithfully.
